I don't know why, but I just thought of this movie today -- one of the more representative cinematic pieces of that era...

Just One of the Guys

Amazing plot, I tell you -- an attractive young newshound, in a stab at "credibility", goes to a rival school dressed as a disturbing cross of Fred Savage and Michael Jackson.

Along the way, we come across 80's staples such as William Zabka (the lead Cobra Chi in the Karate Kid saga) and Billy Jayne (it appears that Parker Lewis can lose), and learn a little bit about life and what it means to triumph over adversity and estrogen.
